New Employment Course Offers Companies, Schools and Individuals Practical Job Hunting Solutions

“Real World Job Search & Resume Writing” content covers: applicant and recruiter psychology; labor markets; employment requisitions and their effect upon job acceptance and salary negotiations; and ten sources of jobs and the pros and cons of each.  Resume writing includes specific instructions for writing the Objective, Personal Data, Education, Experience, and miscellaneous sections such as Military Service, Professional Affiliations, Publications, Hobbies and References.

To further help graduating students, the course includes four issues of Today’s Collegiate Job Search Guide, a newsletter formerly published by PAR that presents interviews with college relations executives in major companies such as First Instate Bank, Blue Cross of Southern California, and HR Textron Engineering.  It was distributed to 800 college placement offices in the Western United States.

For interview practice, the course contains an interview script that one can modify to fit any type of job or any interview style just by adding or changing questions.

Robbins designed “Real World” based on 13 years personnel experience including three years as a classification specialist in the Air Force and 10 years as a recruiter for major engineering firms in Los Angeles.  Later he taught job search as part of a writing curriculum for graduating high school seniors.
