Kuala Lumpur – 7 April 2010 – Dakode, a mobile publishing and 2D barcode tracking platform by Serious Software Sdn Bhd has achieved a landmark 100,000 mobile engagement via the 2D barcode with Kompas Daily, the leading newspaper in Indonesia with readership of more than 1.8 million a day.
The Dakode solution allows publishers and content creators to easily and quickly integrate 2D barcodes to mobile content. The solution enables them to publish interactive content designed to fit various mobile phone brands, create, manage and track cross media campaigns linking print to online, via the Mobile Internet.
Dakode provides end-to-end solution from creating Microsites with rich interactivity which enables users to engage a printed 2D barcode and present them the latest online information to their mobile devices. The realtime tracking provides the ability to track the response of the advertising campaign as well as creating viral marketing through social media. This creates a new medium for publishers and content creators to potentially generate new revenues.
“The statistics show our readers are consistently engaging the QR codes from our print media to get more information and interact with our newsroom,” said Edi Taslim, Deputy Director of Business, Kompas Daily. “It is clear that we can increase our revenue and deliver value-add business streams to our advertisers. Now the print has become interactive and we are able to deliver latest information from both our editorial newsroom and also helping our advertisers to collect feedback from their campaigns”.
John Fong, Chief Executive Officer of Serious Group commented, saying; “Kompas Gramedia mobile data traffic (generated through the printed newspaper) is steadily increasing of an average of 20% monthly since last year. This clearly proves mobile internet is getting more popular in Indonesia. Dakode provides publisher to do what they do best with their content without the worry and complexity of maintaining an IT system. Combined with the powerful tracking and management tools, advertisers could now have full analysis and feedback from their advertising campaign”.
Kompas Gramedia is currently showcasing Dakode nationwide through their Gramedia Expo which has been held in Jakarta and Surabaya earlier this year, next stop will be Makasar from 28 April to 7 May 2010.
