Dizzee Rascal to be next James Bond?

The UK's fastest growing second hand classified site has today revealed that half of Brits would like to see a black James Bond, with British rapper Dizzee Rascal proving to be the most desired choice.

April 7, 2010 - PRLog -- The UK's fastest growing second hand classified site, www.Preloved.co.uk, has today revealed that following a nationwide survey of 1,297 people that half of people, 52%, said that they would like to see a black James Bond.
The second hand website  has become a popular venue for buying and selling 007 memorabilia and DVDs and thought that in light of the news that Lady Gaga could be singing the new theme tune it would be interesting to see what other changes the public would like to see in a Bond film.
Of the 52% of Brits who said that they would like to see a black James Bond, 1 in 3 said that Barack Obama becoming President was the reason that they thought it more likely to happen, whilst 1 in 5 said that they thought it would be more culturally representative of the UK.
The most popular man to take on the role of 007 was British rapper Dizzee Rascal, 67% saying that he would do a good job as the spy. American Actor Will Smith, who has in the past stated that he would love to play the hero, was named as the second choice, with 65% of people admitting he’d be one of the picks.
The top ten men chosen to play the black James Bond are:
1.   Dizzee Rascal – 67%
2.   Will Smith - 65%
3.   Adrian Lester - 61%
4.   Jay Z - 59%
5.   Barack Obama - 56%
6.   Ricky Whittle - 53%
7.   Lewis Hamilton - 51%
8.   Denzel Washington - 47%
9.   Noel Clarke - 36%
10.   Michael Clarke Duncan - 32%
Of the men that were picked to play the black James Bond, half were British. Of those that picked Dizzee Rascal, real name Dylan Mills, 3 in 4, 76% said that they were convinced after seeing him perform at the Brit awards wearing a suit. Two thirds chose Shakespearean actor Adrian Lester based on his role in Hustle, whereas 53% of those who picked Lewis Hamilton said that they thought he would make the best driver of an Aston Martin.
Transformers actress Megan Fox was the top Bond Girl choice with 72%, closely followed by Beyonce Knowles with 69%.

3.   Cheryl Cole - 65%
4.   Angelina Jolie - 63%
5.   Lady Gaga - 61%
6.   Keira Knightley - 60%
7.   Mel B - 57%
8.   Naomi Campbell - 53%
9.   Britney Spears - 49%
10.   Nicole Scherzinger - 34%
77% of those asked said that they thought that Ex-Prime Minister Tony Blair, would make the most canny villain, closely followed by former President George Bush Junior, 73%, and then Katie Price, with 52% of the vote. Simon Cowell came in it at fifth with 39%.

"James Bond memorabilia and goods have become great second hand sellers, with fans always keen to snap up a bargain on the site. With this in mind we thought it would be interesting to see what people thought the future held for the James Bond franchise.

"I think that it is interesting that Simon Cowell is the fifth "in-line" to play a villain, whereas fellow X Factor judge Cheryl Cole is the third most desirable woman to play a Bond girl. What would be really interesting would be if they were to cast both Lewis Hamilton and Nicole Scherzinger together as they are an item in real life, as are Jay Z and Beyonce Knowles."
