Regal Security, a supplier of security product to South Africa and the entire sub-Saharan region, has enhanced its online presence with an investment in the expertise, product knowledge and service offering of its online partner Syncrony, a Gauteng-based provider of web design and content management services.
Management at the provider of security solutions sought to acquire the services of a partner that had a proven track record in redesign and full support of corporate websites. The company was reliant upon an outdated site to reflect its product, services and other key information to the market.
The Regal Security offering includes embedded and PC-based DVR systems, Biometric Fingerprint Readers and Access Control Systems, Gate and Garage Automation, Electric Fencing, Fire Systems, Intruder Detection systems, intercoms and more.
Regal Security needed its new website to serve as a showcase for its vast product range. The site would be aimed at the large and loyal Regal Security installer base. All products would be available in the site along with product specifications and pictures.
Regal Authorized Installers would be able to search for and research products on the site. Selected products could be added to a shopping list that could then be emailed directly to Regal as a quotation.
Syncrony was identified as the service provider of choice based on its success in marrying current and emerging trends in the operation and management of websites.
According to Howard Rybko, CEO at Syncrony, these trends include a clean, crisp look & feel, a modest approach to flash-style content, easy navigation, up-to-date information and click through that are not complicated and offer something practical and meaningful.
Regal Security required a new, ‘out-of-the-
This was no easy task said Rybko due mainly to the fact that Regal Security was in the process of installing a new Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.
“It required retrieving data from a graphically formatted product catalogue and manipulating images and text into a well-structured data architecture or platform. This would be used in the online product system,” said Rybko. “The site also needed to include a shopping cart facility as well as a specialised area for Regal registered installers, who use the facility to find installation manuals and special assistance with installation issues.”
Mel Labuschagne, sales director at Regal Security, said the investment in Syncrony has certainly paid dividend for the company.
“We have been impressed with the level of service, support and ongoing contribution by Syncrony towards the redesign and refurbishment of our online presence. The company has exceptional market experience and knowledge of what an effective, attractive and practical website entails. We believe that the project to date has been of substantial value to our growth strategy and direction going forward,” said Labuschagne.
