The national hero—AQ-has a one item agenda. He wants to rehabilitate himself by shifting blame on others and then having become the underdog he wants to be the President of Pakistan. To achieve this he is prepared to do anything—blame others, make baseless allegations and even fabricate events. The country and national security be damned. He has already tried to compromise China and western journalists have lapped it up. They want more and he will oblige by playing on their belief that others were involved. In a charged environment the national hero plans to make waves—at the cost of the country.
What the national hero does not understand is that there is no way he can be absolved because he is the one who did everything and if he followed illegal orders or obliged others as he is implying he is still responsible---
AL Q is watching and waiting. Of all the entities in the world this is the entity that will use WMD as soon as it gets it with the expertise to use it. AL Q needs AQ to form AL Q, AQ and Co because this will give them what they want. They will do anything to get AQ to give them the know- how and the contacts to implement that know -how. If this has to be done covertly and secretly because of AQ’s ambitions then so be it. Their coffers are open. They have already galvanized their network to provide support and create the environment for AQ to succeed. The signs are clearly visible and AQ is orienting himself to get Islamist support in his designs.
Fortunately the environment has changed. There is vigilance and surveillance. Hatches have been battened down and there are new structures for command control and security. AL Q is known and restricted. AQ is understood and his designs are known as is the game being played. The days of clandestine programs are gone. Institutions have strengthened themselves and will not allow themselves to be manipulated nor will they allow national security interests to be compromised by personal ambitions. There are bigger challenges than the antics of has-beens. AL Q, AQ and Co will remain what it is—a pipe dream—hopefully.
