April 7, 2010 - PRLog -- “No author today knows as much about professional green screen use than Jeff Foster,” says Design Tools Monthly publisher and editor Jay Nelson referring to The Green Screen Handbook. This unique book, written by producer and motion graphics specialist Jeff Foster, is a comprehensive how-to of professional production techniques, step-by-step instruction, and tips. A DVD accompanies the book that includes sample footage and all project files for each chapter.

On April 13, 2010, from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm in room N254, Jeff will be presenting a live Green Screen shoot for the NAB Post-Production Conference in Las Vegas. Equipment and gear supplied for the shoot includes: Panasonic, Kino Flo, Bogen, Reflecmedia, Ultimatte, Composite Components, iStockphoto, ScopeBox and many more. “Ultimatte is providing an Ultimatte DV box,” commented Foster, “so I’ll be showing some live hardware compositing at this session along with a special guest appearance from Ultimatte President and Co-Founder, Paul Vlahos.” Besides sharing lighting techniques, planning ahead for scenes and virtual sets, the importance of using a scope when setting up your shots, tips and tricks (including how to make your own portable low-voltage cool lights cheap), Foster will look at some examples of productions from the past to the present and how compositing technology has changed over the years.

A hand signed copy of his just released book The Green Screen Handbook, published by Sybex (Wiley), will be available for purchase at the presentation. Jeff will also be giving sessions in Animating with Photoshop, Stereo 3D Animation with Photoshop and After Effects and Motion Tracking with Mocha and After Effects.
