Steve Powell, a local producer/director and cameraman with Odessa Pictures, will share clips, and discuss his many years of work, as a documentary filmmaker, including his most recent work at the Winter Olympics. He will also offer advice to persons interested in documentary work, and will take some questions from attendees.
Mark and Christine Bonn will present a discussion on the making of, and general information pertaining to, their documentary film, "Wings of Silver: The Vi Cowden Story". The film focuses on Ms. Cowden, and other women, who were "civilian flyers" during wartime, and who were finally recognized for their work and dedication to service with Congressional Gold Medals. This powerful and compelling film will be shown in its entirety at the upcoming Buffalo Niagara Film Festival, but the producers will show clips and discuss the aspects of making the movie at this meeting.
The public is invited to attend but registration is necessary.
