Yanks Go Green & Cause Climate Change Tonite at Fenway Park!
In an attempt to “Go Green” the Yankees will cause a climate change tonight at Fenway Park. The air, tainted by the applause of Red Sox fans leftover from Monday night, will be cleansed, purified by victory cheers for the Blue-n-White. The chill from Monday’s defeat will disappear, the temperature will be feverish, white hot in the Yankees bullpen. Monday’s 9-7 loss will be but a memory with the energy efficient A.J. Burnett on the mound; his pitching arm swinging like a wind turbine, propelling the Yanks to an early lead.
Call it intuition, or blind faith. Perhaps lightening will strike twice and it’ll be repeat homers by Posada and Granderson. Not likely. Maybe Jeter or Johnson will add to their list of RBI’s, or smack a ball out of Fenway. Whatever, whomever, gets the job done, the Red Sox will leave the field tonight feeling like recycled compost.
Many might argue, it’s just the second game of the season! What’s the big deal? But it’s more than a game. It’s a rivalry. It’s a fair trade agreement between NY’ers and their Yanks. We remain loyal to the team, they deliver good baseball to their fans. We believe in them early in the season, they parade through the Canyon of Heroes in the Fall. Maybe that’s a stretch, a leap, a dream too early had in April. Or maybe it’s the sweet smell of victory filling the air, starting tonight. Look out Boston, the Yankees victory is next!
