Swiss chemicals company Clariant will add 50 jobs and invest $2.5 million in its Charlotte operations over the next three years.
Clariant will consolidate customer-service and business-support operations at its facility on Monroe Road, moving some of those functions from Rhode Island.
Salaries will vary by job, but the annual average wage will be $85,796, excluding benefits. The average annual wage in Mecklenburg County is $48,776.

Clariant has nearly 400 employees at its N.C. facilities, including operations in Gaston, Iredell and Mecklenburg counties.
The Monroe Road expansion was made possible in part by a $55,000 grant from the One North Carolina Fund, which provides financial assistance to attract business projects that will stimulate economic activity and create jobs.
