New Cardiovascular Horizons (NCVH) continues to recognize leaders in cardiovascular medicine with the presentation of the 2010 NCVH Achievement Award to Gregg Stone, MD, Director of Cardiovascular Research and Education of the Center for Interventional Vascular Therapies at Columbia University Medical Center, and the Cardiovascular Research Foundation. Dr. Stone will be recognized and deliver his presentation during the “Masters and Legends in Cardiovascular Medicine” session on Friday, June 4.
Established to recognize leaders in the field of cardiology and limb salvage, the NCVH Achievement Award has been bestowed on pioneers in the industry, including Julio Palmaz, MD, Edward Diethrich, MD, Martin Leon, MD and Michael DeBakey, MD.
Dr. Stone has served as the national or international principal investigator for more than 50 national and international multicenter randomized trials, has authored more than 1,000 book chapters, manuscripts and abstracts published in the peer-reviewed literature, and has delivered thousands of invited lectures around the world. Dr. Stone's areas of expertise include interventional therapies of acute coronary syndromes and myocardial infarction; drug eluting stents; adjunct pharmacology;
Dr. Martin B. Leon, a past recipient of the NCVH Achievement Award, and Dr. Stone are the Directors of Transcatheter Cardiovascular Therapeutics (TCT), the world's largest symposium devoted to interventional cardiology and vascular medicine. Dr. Stone's medical practice is devoted to interventional cardiology at New York-Presbyterian Hospital / Columbia University Medical Center.
