Christmas in Lapland is a lovely time to discover the sheer beauty and magic of Lapland. If your children are still young enough to believe ,the experience will be even more magical. A week will not really be long enough to experience all that Lapland has to offer but it will certainly give you an experience and a holiday of a lifetime. Christmas time in Lapland is one long magical adventure, wherever you go Christmas is awake and alive. A simple trip to the supermarket is an outing all of its own, with the reindeer sauntering around, Santa doing his shopping and if you are lucky, the elves hiding around every corner. Cross country skiing is traditionally done on Christmas Eve and it has always been a time honoured tradition to cross country ski under the stars before returning to your Log cabin for a drink or two and an early night whilst you all anticipate the arrival of Santa Claus.  Santa’s house is a great place to visit or you can arrange Santa to visit you at your Log Cabin. Activities around Christmas time are plentiful with lots of trips that are catered especially for families with children. Yllas Lapland is a small resort with everything you could ever need close by and it has some of the best skiing in Finland with lessons for all abilities. A lesson on the slopes is a great way to introduce children to skiing for the first time and there is a specially adapted nursery slope where children can learn in comfort and at their own pace. Adults are also allowed onto the nursery slopes, so if it is your first time too, there is plenty of room for you to get used to the slopes.  Visiting Lapland at any time of the year is magical but at Christmas time the magic is tangible, every little corner of Lapland is alive with the magic and you will leave Lapland wanting to come back for more.
