April 5, 2010 - PRLog -- Proving once again that bowlers will come to the aid of those in need, BOWLAND CENTERS are proud to announce that $4,685 will be donated to the Muscular Dystrophy Association because of recent fundraising efforts in their bowling centers.
“We are extremely proud of the generosity of our bowlers,” Said Lisa Ciniello, Vice President of Bowland Centers. “Time and again we ask them to help support various causes and charitable organizations. And these men and women always come through beyond our expectations.”
All 6 local Bowland Centers were involved in the efforts, selling the MDA’s trademark SHAMROCKS for a ten day period earlier this month. An MDA bowling tournament was staged at Allstar Lanes in North Ft Myers, which was the top fundraising center with more than $1,400 raised.
“I’m absolutely thrilled with the response from the bowlers and staff at the Bowland Centers,” said Marty Moorhead, executive director of the southwest Florida chapter of the Muscular Dystrophy Association. “We are now able to send 5 more kids to the MDA summer camp.”
Funds raised help the Association carry on its fight against more than 40 neuromuscular diseases, including a worldwide program of basic and applied research, a nationwide network of comprehensive medical and support services, and extensive professional and public education.
