Westlake Village, CA -- Huitt-Zollars has been awarded the contracts for two affordable housing developments totaling approximately 256 units in the Southern California coastal community of Oxnard, announced Vice President Jim Faul.
Huitt-
Zollars has been engaged by The Daly Group to provide engineering and survey mapping services for the development of approximately 100 affordable housing units in Oxnard Village, a privately funded transit oriented mixed use redevelopment project at the intersection of US 101 and Highway 1. The affordable housing component will be located on three acres within the 64-acre site, which at build out will feature 1,500 residential units including affordable housing, market rate row-housing, live-work and twin 25-story luxury high-rise condominium towers. As engineer and surveyor on the project since 2006, Huitt-Zollars has worked closely with The Daly Group to obtain planning and council approvals, which were granted in February 2009. Oxnard Village is being developed on a high visibility, yet blighted site, which currently includes a vacant 1950's era motel, mobile home park, and obsolete commercial and light manufacturing facilities. Construction is expected to start in late 2010.
Huitt-Zollars also has been awarded the engineering and surveying contract for an Affordable Housing Development that is located within the 700-acre RiverPark master planned community in Oxnard, now under construction. The affordable housing project, developed by Aldersgate Investments, will feature approximately 156 units as well as a half-acre public park on a 6.5 acre site located along RiverPark Boulevard and American River Court.
Faul, who heads the firm's Westlake Village office, will direct all activities on behalf of the firm.
