As of April 22 2010, firms performing renovations, repair and painting projects that disturb lead-based paint in homes, child care facilities, and schools built before 1978 must be certified, individual renovators must be trained by an EPA- accredited training provider, and the firms and renovators must follow specific work practices to contain and prevent lead contamination.
On March 1st, 2010 Phil's Handy Service, Inc became one of Tampa Bay's first contractors to become an EPA certified lead safe renovator. This is great news for anyone using Phil's Handy Service, Inc. As we found out, they plan to use the same strict EPA guidelines to contain dust on any job. This means that the days of a dust filled house during construction, home repair or renovation are over!
