April sees the welcome addition of respected UK home and furniture retailer Habitat to their searchable database of products which will enable shoppers to compare prices and features easily against most other major home outlets. The official response from Housecharm was "We are absolutely delighted to be able to feature products from Habitat on Housecharm.co.uk and we believe that with high street furniture stores in decline particularly since the loss of MFI and Cotswold Company, online promotion is the best way forward for both the retailer and the customer when it comes to furnishing their home".
In addition to the launch of Habitat, Housecharm.co.uk have been in discussion with two leading DIY chains to enhance the promotion of their next day and collect from store services. A spokesperson for Housecharm stated "We find that many of our visitors have a keen interest in both minor and major home improvements and, until now, it has traditionally been tricky to sell to this type of customer online as products are needed the same or next day at the very latest and in the past, delivery times have sometimes been the best part of a week. With the introduction of collect from store and next day delivery, we have seen a large increase in online purchasing activity particularly for decorating and plumbing products."
As part of a drive to aid budding gardeners in preparation for summer, Housecharm have recently commissioned a skilled garden designer to write topical garden advice in a series of articles. The reception of these articles has been very encouraging so far, with one happy reader quoted as saying "Thank you so much for the article on the winter garden. I had been staring out of the window thinking what a mess, but reading your article has inspired me to get out there despite the weather so that I can have a garden to really show off in the spring".
With summer now just round the corner, Housecharm.co.uk is expected to provide an even greater service to customers and online retail outlets alike with frequent exclusive arrangements with leading online brands to ensure that the customer gets the best deal and widest choice possible when it comes to furniture, homewares, garden and DIY purchases online.
