Two Major Attractions of Huangshan Were Reopened

The West Sea Great Gorge and Heavenly Capital Peak of Yellow Mountain reopened to travelers after a long-term maintenance

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PRLog (Press Release) - Apr 01, 2010 -
Two major attractions of Huangshan Scenic Spot, the West Sea Great Gorge and Heavenly Capital Peak, were reopened to tourists from yesterday after the four-month maintenance, according to the Management Committee of the Huangshan Scenic Area. The safety inspectors of the Botanical Garden Department have inspected the two spots recently and indicated that both the ecology and vegetation recovered well.

Huangshan Scenic Area http://www.chinatouronline.com/china-travel/huangshan/hua..., a China famous attraction, was listed as a UNESCO World Natural and Cultural Heritage in 1990, with its location in Huangshan City (http://www.chinatouronline.com/china-travel/huangshan.html) of Anhui Province China. As the key scenic spots of Yellow Mountain, Heavenly Capital Peak and West Sea Grand Canyon are generally the first choices for travelers to Huangshan.

Situated in the southeastern part, Heavenly Capital Peak is known as the Three Highest Peaks in Mount Huang together with Bright Summit and Lotus Peak, quite grand and magnificent. And the West Sea Great Gorge is not only well known for the wonderful and elegant peaks, but also the best place to enjoy the sights of sea clouds and sunset.

Because of the small size and limited capacity, the vegetation surrounding Heavenly Capital Peak and West Sea Great Gorge is easily damaged by tourists. In addition, the stone steps and trails here are narrow and steep, thus it’s very dangerous for travelers to climb especially in rain and snow.

To ensure the tourists’ safety and ecological reparation at the scenic area, the administrative department of Huangshan Scenic Area will close the two spots from every December 1 to March 31 next year. During the “rest and recuperation” period, the Botanical Garden Department will maintain and change the climbing stone steps and ropes as well as other security facilities.
