(EUREKA SPRINGS, AR) – Wood carvers from around the state and region revive a centuries-old art form during the 6th Annual Carving In The Ozarks, April 16-17. The event is at U.S. 62 East at Rockhouse Road. April 16 carving starts at 9 a.m. and April 17 it begins at 8 a.m.
Organizer David Blankenship invites visitors to “celebrate this amazing art form and help out two great causes.” A portion of the auction will go to Carroll County Habitat For Humanity and Eureka High School VICA students.

The 20th century saw a resurgence of interest and, in the 21st century, the art form has taken a new technological turn: chainsaw carving.
Returning winners this year include Sam Dunning of Benton, KY, Buck Sickau of Forsythe, MO, and Keith Gregory of Willard, MO. There will be one “Main Event” carving each day, giving competitors the entire day to complete their creation.
Saturday at 4 p.m. all carvings will be auctioned off. Registered bidders will also be entered into a drawing for a free carving, but must be present to win.
