Other security systems and authentication devices, which require the user’s interaction and rely on inactivity timers, only protect the workstation at the time of login. In contrast, XyLoc closes the window of vulnerability and protects the workstation against unauthorized access, full-time, without needing special action from the user.
“Following its introduction, Microsoft Windows 7 has attracted substantial interest in the business-user community, being viewed as a more robust version of Windows than Vista,” stated John Dunlap, President of Ensure Technologies. “We see many users planning for Windows 7 deployment this year. By releasing a Windows 7 version of the XyLoc Client software, we are ready to support customers as they migrate to Windows 7.”
XyLoc Client 9.1 for Windows 7 includes a Windows Password Reset utility which allows a user to reset their Windows or Domain account password. This feature is also available when the user is logged into a kiosk account. The user simply provides the utility with their unique Domain username. A 64-bit version of the XyLoc Client 9.1 software is scheduled for release 2nd Quarter of 2010.
