APSI & Mike Minter Workforce Development Program team up with New Horizons of Charlotte, NC

March 31, 2010 - PRLog -- APSI., Charlotte’s expert in vocational training and consulting services, is now working with New Horizons Computer Learning Center of Charlotte, NC through an academic partnership to offer students internationally recognized credentials and certifications, including Cisco networking technology, in high demand job markets.  

Residents of Charlotte and surrounding markets seeking occupational training in Broadband and Networking can now take one course and receive three globally recognized certification/credentials.  "We are extremely thrilled to collaborate with New Horizons to deliver this unique program. This relationship allows the Mike Minter Workforce Development Program the ability to offer this program to unemployed, dislocated and military veterans in our community.  APSI is the only training organization in the world offering this special training program and we can’t wait to see how this training will have an impact on each graduate," says

The partnership’s goal is to offer the Broadband Networking Program, provide certification and help them identify employment opportunities using the skills earned from the fiber optic and Cisco networking technology.   APSI and New Horizons of Charlotte are already working with local employers to inform them of this special program and hopefully help fill the skill gap in technology for that region.

APSI trains and certifies people with skills to actively engage the emerging broadband infrastructure market, while New Horizons of Charlotte provides the network technology expertise in Cisco enterprise networking to create a one-of-a-kind graduate that can connect physical layer infrastructure with enterprise networks and beyond.

With classes beginning in May 2010, the Broadband Networking Program will offer graduates with three globally recognized credentials. Two will focus on the physical layer of infrastructure and one covers the Enterprise level networking and OSI Model.
