Jurgen Maerz, known to many around the world as "Mr. Platinum" will conduct a workshop on creating a ring using gold onto silver. Jurgen is a skilled Goldsmith of many years, originally trained in Germany.
Maerz will conduct a hands on intensive workshop in creating a silver ring and adding some gold to give it a very rich looking appearance, with a very interesting visual contrast between metals.
Each student will receive a packet of silver and gold, the cost of which will be determined by the metals market. Once we know how much metal is needed, it will be priced at market.
About Jurgen
Jurgen J. Maerz is Director of Technical Education for Platinum Guild International USA, and holds credentials as an instructor and has taught for the Gemological Institute of America for over four years. He was in charge of the Jewelry Manufacturing Arts Extension department and has taught jewelry techniques in cities throughout the United States. Mr. Maerz was responsible for the creation of the Platinum Educational Program that GIA offers to this day.
