Touch Taboo is unique, not just in that it has a funky and quirky name, but that it has started up in a relatively quiet part of East London.
Run by a freelancer, Touch Taboo doesn’t have a full-time workforce and that allows the web development to be based solely around each individual project. Each small business gets their tailor made online presence.
Having achieved a first class degree in Computer Science and subsequently spending two gruelling years in the industry, founder Nathan Nelson decided it was time to provide his own services.
“I began this company to naturally combine two things that I love doing, design and coding. This was a culmination for the two passions.”
Unlike many of the other web design companies out there, Touch Taboo isn’t there to just provide a service, “I go out of my way to provide clean, fresh, contemporary websites. There isn’t much point in a web site unless it looks better than the competition”
Some would call web design an oversaturated area, but Nathan disagrees, “You can’t really get too crowded in the area of ‘providing the client with a tailor made solution’. I realise that it’s a bit of a bullfight online, but I’m looking to work with clients both online and offline, it’s about engaging with real people, and for me that starts with the local community”
Touch Taboo already has a respectable list of clientele ranging from an e-commerce site for selling hair extensions, to a web solution for a project management company. Their diverse portfolio is course readily available on their website should a potential client wish to have a look.
