Each month, artists can submit questions and then listen to art licensing industry experts answer them during free calls – part of The Art Licensing Info Monthly Ask Call Series. The free calls, offered through ArtLicensingInfo.com have been a great vehicle for artists across the country to listen and learn from the comfort of their own home.
During the March 17, 2010 Ask Mary Engelbreit call, founder Tara Reed coordinated efforts to take the calls to a new level. “By encouraging artists to interact on the Facebook fan page (http://www.Facebook.com/
The Facebook fan page served as “group notes” so those who weren’t on the live call could see what resonated with those who were. One artist gave this feedback: “Well, I guess a LOT of people must have followed up the Facebook discussion that took place while the Mary Engelbreit was going on…. I have had people contact me that I had not heard from in years, new people following me on twitter and new Facebook friend
requests. It’s all so interesting how one thing leads to another. I like the idea of doing Facebook while your calls are going on!”
Artists on Twitter found each other by including #ask to all of their tweets. On both platforms, people would tweet or comment about things that Mary said that resonated with them, surprised them or gave them hope for their own art and business.
With the overwhelming success, connecting on Social Media will be a part of all upcoming Art Licensing Info Monthly Ask Calls. For more information about the free calls or to see the schedule of upcoming calls, please visit http://www.ArtLicensingInfo.com/
