Shawnigan Lake, British Columbia – March 30, 2010 – MGV Inc, the manufacturer of Econofrost night covers, was invited to attend Detroit Edison’s official launch of their customized 2010 rebates and incentives programs for supermarkets and grocery stores at the University of Michigan Dearborn Campus.
Detroit Edison has developed an rebate/incentive program specifically for supermarkets and grocery stores aimed at implementing energy saving measures. And one of the most prominent energy saving measures they are recommending is the use of night covers on open refrigerated display equipment. Detroit Edison recognizes the significant value retailers will gain by installing night covers on their open refrigerated cases so that is why they are offering a $15.00 per linear foot rebate for installing night covers.
With minimum energy savings of 36% every hour used, night covers are an effective and sustainable product that allows retailers to save energy and reduce compressor run times. In addition, they maintain cooler product and case temperatures sustaining product freshness and appearance.
Retrofit night covers are used during non-operating hours which ensure shoppers have full unrestricted access to the items on display. Retailers save hundreds if not thousands on their monthly utility bills and recoup lost sales and revenue that was incurred from high rates of product shrink and discard.
