THE NEW Spice Mobile handset is no less than a camera. Spice has unveiled a 12 megapixel camera phone. The two other mobile phones companies offering this feature are Samsung (W880) and Sony Ericsson (Satio).
Priced Rs 14,500, Spice handset has a 3x optical zoom, CCD sensor and functions including multiple face detection, smile shutter, auto focus, night vision, anti-shake, Xenon flash and 24 preset capture modes, QVGA resolution, Bluetooth with A2DP and a mini-USB port. Both Samsung and Sony Ericsson have Wi-Fi , whereas Spice S1200 is not having Wi-Fi feature.
Spice S1200 also includes TV out support which means that it can be connected to standard television sets.
Spice Mobiles has also announced Sonam Kapoor as its brand ambassador.
Seems Samsung wants to pitch its upcoming SCH-W880 as it clear indicates that W880 has more selling points than its high-resolution camera sensor and optical zoom.
The S1200 features a 12 mega-pixel camera with professional CCD sensor and boasts of numerous advanced camera functions including multiple face detection, smile shutter, auto focus, night vision, anti-shake, xenon flash and 24 preset capture modes. It is also quite capable when it comes to video recording and supports recording QVGA resolution video at 30 fps.Besides the standard assortment of connectivity options (no Wi-Fi), the S1200 also includes TV out support (cables included), which allows it to be connected to standard television sets.
Speaking on the launch of Spice S-1200 Mr. Kunal Ahooja, Director and CEO, Spice Mobiles Ltd stated, “Photography is emerging as a fine art and expression of creativity. Our latest Picture Perfect series phone the 12MP S-1200 caters to this lifestyle need of good photography on the move”.
Like Satio, Sony Ericsson Vivaz also operates under the operating system Symbian (S60 5th Edition) but the phone is smaller than the Satio in terms of the overall size and the display.
