2010 Charlotte Pet Expo
March 17, 2010 – Although the ASPCA’s pet abandonment statistics paint a bleak picture of overcrowded animal shelters, dozens of local rescue organizations will raise awareness for their cause and feature adoptable pets at the 2010 Charlotte Pet Expo on Saturday, May 8th. They will be joined by more than 150 local and nationwide participants, including pet supply retailers, groomers, walkers, sitters, and veterinary clinics. Pet owners are encouraged to bring their “best friends” to the Cabarrus Arena and Events Center for free parking and admission to this one-day only show, taking place from 10 am to 6 pm.
The Charlotte Pet Expo is a woofing, chirping, and meowing good time for the whole family! Four-legged friends can receive “spa treatments” from local groomers, sample delicious treats, and try on the latest in furry fashions; their humans will enjoy interacting with top trainers and learning pet-care tips from animal welfare organizations. Rounding out the list of activities are agility courses, pet talent and costume shows, and an exciting pet/owner look-alike contest!
The highlight of the event is definitely the adoptable animals showcased by area non-profits. Their moving stories and the dedication of rescue workers will surely touch many hearts; the mission of the 2010 Charlotte Pet Expo is to raise visibility for struggling animal shelters and to provide loving homes for stray animals.
The Charlotte Pet Expo is part of the Amazing Pet Expos series hosted nationwide. The first show kicked off in St. Louis on October 2009, drawing nearly 10,000 people in only eight hours. With this warm response, hosting organization B2C Marketing and Technology Solutions were strongly encouraged to go national, and secured seven cities on the 2010 schedule.
