March 29, 2010 - PRLog -- The author of the meeting management and planning book “R.A!R.A! A Meeting Wizard’s Approach”, Shirley Fine Lee, releases her fourth podcast where she shares meeting tips in approximately 5 minutes of audio.  The purpose of Ms. Lee’s audio-podcasts is to enable business teams to increase the success of their meetings with simple tips they can implement immediately.  This RARA-based podcast is titled “Relevant Records” and was developed using a few tips from her book on the importance of record-keeping both during and after meetings.  This podcast and the others in the series may currently be downloaded for free from her website at http://www.shirleyfinelee.com by checking under the audio-video (A/V)) page, which is an option that appears near the top of her home page.

“R.A!R.A! A Meeting Wizard’s Approach” (ISBN: 1-4196-5367-9) is a no-nonsense guide to planning and conducting meetings so that they are as productive, effectual, and smoothly run as possible.  The approach is pronounced rah-rah as if in a cheer.  In the book it states the letters in the title acronym stand for the four main components of productive meetings.  These are having an agenda, using roles, assigning actions, and keeping records.  The book is available on http://www.Amazon.com.

When speaking to groups on the RARA meeting management approach, Ms. Lee is often asked what the most relevant data is for the team historian or minute-taker to put into the final minutes.  She tells groups the minutes do not have to be word-for-word everything that is said but the key ideas and discussion content needs to be captured.  Shirley says “Meeting records are more than just capturing action items and brainstormed lists.  Good records help prevent repetition in future meetings if the relevant details are properly noted.”  To find out more about Shirley Fine Lee, or her meeting facilitation and management training, visit her website http://www.shirleyfinelee.com .
