8 minutes were allocated to each team to pitch their business ideas to the YES Judges. This was followed by a 5-minute Q & A session where Judges scrutinized their ideas. Teams were required to defend their ideas and prove its commercial viability and scalability.
Award Winning Malaysian Inventor, Mr Bugs Tan, who was one of the YES Judges stated, “I am very impressed by the quality of some of the business ideas that were presented to us. I am even more impressed by the level of maturity and enthusiasm of these young aspiring entrepreneurs, bearing in mind that most of them are only 19 – 21 years old. Their confidence level in presenting their ideas to us was something that caught my attention. I think the YES Challenge is indeed a good platform for these young aspiring entrepreneurs to sharpen their skills and prepare them for the real world out there.”
The Top 6 teams that made it through are: W.R.I.S.T., Crimson Concepts, DreamzLand, SYCo, Greenergy and Voila! The winning teams consist of students from Taylor’s University College, UiTM, Uniten, University Malaya, Sunway University College and Monash University. These teams will advance to the next stage of the Challenge, the YES 2 Big Pitch, where they will pitch for funding to launch their business ideas into the market.
The venue for the YES 2 Judging Session was sponsored by Taylor’s University College (Taylor’s Business School), who is also the event partner for the YES 2 Judging session.
