Black Velvet Deluxe, Hot L.A. Rock Band, Burning Up College and Indie Radio Charts

March 27, 2010 - PRLog -- Black Velvet Deluxe, hottest L.A. rock band to be seen in ages, thanks fans for making their song Sin City Tonight #14 on WLFR.

The band sends out a special note of thanks to Matt "The Jersey Rocker" Unversaw on 91.7 WLFR out of The Richard Stockton College of New Jersey, who does a Jersey Rock Block show on Wednesdays 2-5 pm EST, and serves as the Top 200 Music Director for their college station.  The Jersey Rocker can be found on MySpace as "the jerseyrocker" .

When Sal Acosta, bassist for Black Velvet Deluxe, found out they were in the top twenty in the New Jersey area, along with the likes of Flogging Molly, his excitement went to another level. "Man, I love Flogging Molly. It's awesome how they combine punk rock and Celtic sounds so effortlessly. Now that ups this honor of hitting the Top 20 so quick, for certain."  Flogging Molly is also from Southern California.  

Drummer Josh Lewis went on to explain that this "Sin City" was not written about Las Vegas, as so many expect. It is about Los Angeles; the part that is not seen in the celebrity limelight or captured on the tourist's shiny new camera, yet it is the life many will live in Sin City Tonight.

Oscar Goodman calls himself the "Happiest Mayor in America," since he serves his beloved Las Vegas, the original "Sin City," with such enthusiasm. The city's slogan lately has been "What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas," however, the mob mouthpiece turned merry mayor has taken the saying a step further with his new motto, "Let what happens in Vegas happen to you!"

You have to love a mayor like that, and for a rock band that is moving as fast as Black Velvet Deluxe is, you have to let what happens to their fans happen to you.
