The BOSS STREAM Viewer® software solution
Dietzenbach, Germany – March 16th, 2010 - Dimetis GmbH, an international software and hardware systems integrator, announced today that ORS-Vienna has selected Dimetis BOSS STREAM Viewer® software for its Vienna Broadcast Center. The Dimetis BOSS STREAM Viewer® software decodes and displays multiple high definition or standard definition DVB or IPTV transport streams real-time on a single LCD monitor, allowing users to confirm streaming video and audio signal integrity over networks.
The BOSS STREAM Viewer® also monitors and analyzes stream packet content for irregularities such as signal loss, video freeze, audio silence, and PID data loss. Video stream displays can be independently sized and positioned onscreen, and each source includes live bar graphs for up to four audio signals. Upon fault detection, the BOSS STREAM Viewer® can generate an SNMP trap to external systems or other Dimetis BOSS Platform® products such as the BOSS BROADCAST Manager® and the BOSS LINK Manager® family for studio-wide and network-wide corrective action respectively.
The BOSS STREAM Viewer® is a cost-effective software solution, versus the competitor’s firmware solutions, that runs on standard, off-the-shelf computer server hardware with common I/O interface cards. Applications include: cable, satellite, terrestrial compression, play-out and transmission centers, DVB and IPTV head-ends, network operations centers, and IPTV distribution networks. When coupled with the BOSS LINK Manager®-OSS, the new Dimetis NGOSS platform for end-to-end broadcast and telecom network application, the BOSS STREAM Viewer® provides real-time monitoring and quality-assurance across diverse equipment and complex global networks.
