Chinese Drywall Screening, LLC Provides New Training Video for Home Inspectors

“We were seeing nationally reported cases of Chinese drywall,” states Chinese Drywall Screening, LLC’s owner and founder, Howard Ehrsam.  “We realized we could be providing home and property managers throughout the country a great service by sharing our unique expertise with the people they trust in their buying and selling transactions, home inspectors.”

“Nothing is held back”, says Ehrsam.  “We opened up our training manual and shared our hard earned expertise.”

The training video includes background on Chinese or corrosive drywall as well as information on the right tools to use, how to work with home and property managers and how to visually screen for it.  Ehrsam even goes into great detail on the effects of just a few sheets of tainted drywall and how it can subtlety disrupt and impact the mechanical and electrical components of a home.  “Sometimes it is like reading tea-leaves,” he says.  “I share with the inspectors on how to identify even mild forms of corrosion damage based on my personal observation and expertise as well as what I have gained from working personally with scientists, researchers, forensic investigators, attorneys and contractors.”

NACHI.TV provides training for members of International Association of Certified Home Inspectors (InterNACHI).  InterNACHI is a non-profit inspection association that provides training and certification opportunities for professionals in the residential and commercial property inspection business.  InterNACHI Certified Inspectors are required to pass an Inspector Examination, take a Standards of Practice Quiz, complete a Code of Ethics Course, adhere to Standards of Practice, abide by a Code of Ethics, and attend required continuing education courses.  The Chinese drywall screening program provides 5 CLE’s for home inspectors who take the two hour program.
