edenly, following its fabulous collaboration with designer Claire de Divonne, and still on the lookout for new creativity, launched a jewellery design contest with 60 young artists from the parisian fashion school, ESMOD under the theme of "Eden: Glamour Paradise"
The brief consisted of asking the students to create one or more designs for a gold and diamond ring respectful to the brands personality and also to the contest brief.
Two juries were to judge the designs... the web users and a panel of professionals from the world of publishing and jewellery.
Web users voted for their favorite three designs online on the en.edenly.com site, between the dates of 29 October and 29 November of 2009. Users selected their favorite designs from a display of all the drawings completed and submitted by the artists.
Edenly then worked with its jewellers to breathe life into these exquisite designs..
The necessary steps in the creation of these jewellery rings were:
- to determine the golour of the gold, the finishings and the measurements of each ring
- to create a design technique for each ring, thus allowing measurements and technical aspects to be clarified.
- to create ring molds
- to create the first prototype and check it over for problems or flaws in the manufacturing process.
- and lastly, to create the final ring
A web-voter won the ring with the most votes from internet users:
A web-voter has been drawn from the pool of names of those clever voters who chose the winning ring, Eternal Temptation. The lucky winner wins the Eternal Temptation ring, in the colour of gold and size of their choice at a value of £939.
