The newly launched eBook The Young Qin Shi Huang reveals China’s first emperor’s early life up to age 21.
Qin Shi Huang (also known as Qin Shi Huangdi), named Ying Zheng, went to the throne at the age of 13. The Empire of Qin was actually in the hands of Lu Buwei. The new 12-page mini eBook begins with Lu Buwei speculated on Qin Shi Huang’s father Yiren and ends with Qin Shi Huang suppressed Lu Ai’s coup and forced Lu Buwei to commit suicide and took the real reign of Qin Dynasty at the age of 21.
The story is based on the facts extracted from the famous Chinese history book Shi Ji (Historical Records) written by the greatest Chinese historian Sima Qian some 2,000 years ago. Shi Ji was written in ancient Chinese grammar which is quiet difficult to be understood nowadays. Anna Yuen, author of the book studied Chinese language and Chinese history at university with great interest and understands the ancient Chinese grammar. Yuen translated this fascinating part of Chinese history into a story of simple modern English to answer the demand from the online market.
The mini ebook contains simple illustrations and a family chart of Qin Shi Huang to help readers better understand the relationships among the characters. Author also includes some footnotes to explain the kind of sentences practiced in Qin Dynasty which could be beyond imaginations nowadays.
