Sheryl Bradner, mother of two, faced unemployment last April when the company she was working for closed it’s doors. Unable to find other employment in an area that has been hit hard by the economic downturn, Bradner decided to start her own business.
Bradner contacted a long time friend with an idea about starting an internet business of her own, and soon Simplecandlefun.com was born.
Bradner, who has worked with Celebrating Homes, came up with the idea of starting her own internet company using the Celebrating Homes Fundraising program. “I thought, this is a great program for schools to make money, and if I can start my own business using their program, I could potentially make enough money to support my family”
Celebrating Home, located in Marshall , Texas , is a business where women can create their own business through having “home parties” to sell and promote the Celebrating Home product. One of the additional programs offered is a fundraising program for Schools and organization. The company provides the products and the brochures, while its associates must obtain the business opportunities through their own initiative.
“I figured I’d start a website. Contact schools, Non-Profit Organizations and anyone needing to raise funds. I contacted a long-time friend to help with all the website information and maintenance. In no time at all, we had it up and running. We had the entire product line, and all the information for the schools on how to put on a fundraiser. Before we knew it we started getting inquires. I was shocked on how fast it took off!” Bradner stated.
"It’s really exciting. I never imagined having my own business, yet alone one on the internet, but it works. I feel like I’m helping the schools while making enough income to support my family” she explained, “I really feel there’s a light at the end of the tunnel, if you just go out and try to make it happen”
