The idea is simple, take 100 artists from around the world and give them 1sqft of space to express themselves, let them choose their position in a 10x10 grid and watch the exhibition unfold online little by little at www.100sqft.co.uk then, when all the squares are full of artist's images, take the original pieces and exhibit them in a great pop up gallery venue; The Cholmeley Boys Club, Dalston
Launch 16th May 7pm-12pm, Exhibition 17th-19th May 2010 10am-10pm Cholmeley Boys Club, London N16 8JG
The exhibition, created and curated by artist Carne Griffiths, responds to the difficulties exhibiting, work faced by emerging artists from all backgrounds. 100sqft welcomes outsider artists, hobbyists and graduates, placing their work alongside established artists. There is deliberately no selection process and the exhibition brings together an eclectic range of work from digital prints and mixed media collages to oil paintings and low relief sculptures.
Artists pay £25 to register for the exhibition which includes;
* Representation on the 100sqft website
* Work available for sale online
* Free entry to the launch party
* Publicity through social networking sites
* Promotion of work through press articles
* Artist features both on the web and in print
