Embarking on a singing and songwriting career in her teens, Vivian Green first gained national attention as a backup singer on Jill Scott’s “Words and Sounds Tour” in 2001. Her first album on the Columbia Records label, 2002’s “A Love Story,” achieved gold certification and reached the top twenty in Billboard’s R&B albums chart, yielding a #1 dance hit with “Emotional Rollercoaster”
Her sophomore album, 2005’s “Vivian,” reached the top five of Billboard’s R&B and top twenty of the Billboard 200 albums charts, yielding two #1 dance hits with “Gotta Go, Gotta Leave (Tired)” and “I Like It (But I Don’t Need It)”.
