Chocolate Design hearkens back to this fabulous era with their vintage reproduction designs of the 50's. It was the time when Rock and Roll was born with artists such as Buddy Holly, Little Richard and Elvis giving teenagers their own music, then heavily influenced by this came new fashions and styles that mirrored the vibrant and exciting sounds of the day.
Gabrielle Sey is the founder of Chocolate Designs and is committed to creating original 1950's vintage inspired clothing and accessories, she loves this era when everyone appreciated good quality and beautiful fashion, when a woman dressed with style and not for comfort.
Gabrielle was born in Scotland she moved to England when she was 18 to do an art foundation course in Cheltenham and then a BA (hons) degree at Winchester School of Art in constructed textiles. After graduating she worked as a interior designer for a number of years and it was while redesigning the offices of Kraft, (yes the people that have just bought Cadbury), that she started designing and making her own range of cushions, then inspired by her first order from Liberty of London she expanded her range into vintage 1950s dresses, aprons and accessories, which now also includes children's items.
All of her retro style products are handmade in Britain, she uses Hawwaiian fabrics for her aprons and Polka Dots and other designs for her dresses, humorous designs such as cakes and food mixes adorn her cushions and bags.
She loves the styles of the 1950s and this is reflected in all of her designs so if you appreciate good quality and beautiful fashion from the era of Rock and Roll then go to:
