Ridha Ibrahim’s song “Weanek” grew from an idea he had after recording his Aunts at a traditional wedding ceremony in Tunisia. This unique song is now available for purchase at http://www.reverbnation.com/
The idea for “Weanek” grew after Ibrahim recorded his Aunts as they were preparing cous cous for the wedding meal. Ibrahim took the recording and cleverly weaved it into his song, blending the sounds of his homeland Tunisia among the musical notes. A music video for the song was recorded in Venice, Italy and was mixed with the Tunisian footage.
Ibrahim credits his rich musical roots to his father who took him to music classes at a very young age. He became schooled on many traditional Arabic musical instruments and uses them to introduce his culture to the rest of the world. “Weanek” is an example of how he is able to produce a song that highlights his roots while providing a sound that is uniquely Ridha’s style.
