March 25, 2010 - PRLog -- The Global Social Venture Competition, founded and organized by the Haas School of Business in collaboration with nine global partner schools, is the largest and oldest student-led business plan competition providing mentoring, exposure, and prizes for social ventures from around the world. Winning plans in the past have ranged from global health to microfinance, from clean tech to education, from fair trade to community development, from business concepts to operating companies, and have included for-profit and non-profit models.

The Global Social Venture Conference, our pre-eminent two day event, gives you the opportunity to engage with the competition's finalists and network with experts from across the social impact community. This is a fantastic chance to learn about the new and innovative business solutions to global problems, talk with the leaders of social impact organizations, and learn how to launch your own double- or triple-bottom-line business! This year’s event is poised to be the largest and most successful in GSVC history with over 500 entrants from around the world.

The conference includes presentations from the Global Social Venture Competition's global finalists, exciting keynote speakers, and in-depth panel sessions.  The panels cover topics such as innovative business models, funding, legal issues, global health, education, and the environment -- all with a focus on how to start and sustain a business or non-profit with social impact.

Pre-registration for this conference is required, and seats are limited. Register now to get the early bird rate (before April 9th)!  On-site registration will be dependent on space available.
