Bring Canned Good to Conejo Valley Days, Receive Admission Discount on Opening Night

March 24, 2010 - PRLog -- THOUSAND OAKS, CALIF.--Here's a chance to help stock the shelves of Manna, the Conejo Valley's local food bank, and get a discount on admission to the 54th Annual Conejo Valley Days (CVD). Every fairgoer who attends CVD on opening night, Wednesday night April 28, and brings a canned food item will receive $2 off the regular admission price. All food collected at CVD will be donated to Manna.

   Regular admission is $7 for adults and $5 for kids ages 5 through 12. "By bringing a canned food item, adults are saving 30 percent on admission. For children, it's a 40 percent savings," says Frank Akrey, CVD CEO/President. "But what's even more important, it's an opportunity for the community to help our local food bank and our neighbors."

   "We are in particular need of canned spaghetti sauce, pasta meals and chili," says Mike Mathews, Manna executive director. "Manna has seen a tremendous growth in the number of families who need our services. We help on average 45 families a day. We are thankful for the great support offered by CVD."

   "Conejo Valley Days is evolving into more than just a five-day carnival," notes Akrey. "Expect to see CVD active in the community and helping local nonprofit organizations all year long. Our partnering with Manna is just the beginning."
