Carbondale, Illinois and Boulder, Colorado - Antoinette Lettiere and James Schmidt have been selected by the Council on Undergraduate Research to present at the 2010 National Conference "Posters-on-
Ms. Lettiere and Mr. Schmidt took the lead, working with approximately 30 other architecture and history students during the summer to complete repair and restoration of the first house selected for this program. This house will initially serve as an office for the affordable housing program and within several years will be sold to a family in need of affordable housing.
Work will begin on the second project house at Adventures in Preservation’
Adventures in Preservation is a non-profit organization that has supported community-based heritage preservation projects since 2002. Its hands-on volunteer vacations give participants the opportunity to combine travel with training in preservation skills while actually restoring buildings and experiencing the local culture.
