Millwood, NY – (March 24, 2010) – The Food Bank for Westchester, which has been fighting hunger in Westchester for 20 years, is seeking nominations for its Fifth Annual Hunger Heroes Awards Breakfast. The breakfast, which honors a volunteer, service provider, donor, and corporation who have contributed significantly toward the alleviation of hunger in Westchester, will take place on June 8, 2010, from 8:30 until 10am, at Abigail Kirsch at Tappan Hill, Tarrytown.
Tony Aiello, reporter for Westchester CBS-TV news, will serve as emcee, and Linda Fears, Editor-in-Chief, Family Circle Magazine, will be the keynote speaker.
“Westchester County is filled with wonderful, community-minded people whose help and support should be recognized. Our Hunger Heroes breakfast is a wonderful way to thank them for their ongoing efforts to help alleviate hunger here,” said Christina Rohatynskyj, Executive Director of the Food Bank. “We look forward to receiving nominations and to honoring the best of the best.”
Last year’s honorees included Karen O'Brien of Community Services Associates; The Yonkers Community Action Program Emergency Food Pantry; Jason Finkelberg, general manager, 107.1 The PEAK; and Fuji Film.
Tickets for the breakfast are $40 and can be purchased through the Food Bank at 914-923-1100. Sponsorships are available for the Hunger Heroes Awards Breakfast.
