March 23, 2010 - PRLog -- Lexington, Mass. - March 16, 2010 -Ipswitch, Inc.'s Network Management Division, developer of the WhatsUp Gold suite of innovative IT management solutions, today announced the availability of its WhatsUp Event Log Management Suite and WhatsUp Event Rover 3.0. These new offerings further demonstrate the Network Management Division's commitment to delivering a simplified, end-to-end network monitoring solution to its customers with the addition of event log management.

The WhatsUp Event Log Management Suite comprises four integrated software components that automate frontline monitoring and management of all Syslogs and Windows event logs generated by devices, systems and servers. Event and log management has become increasingly important to organizations as a tool for real-time and forensic analysis of potential security issues, as well as easing their compliance to federal regulations.

In addition to making available the WhatsUp Event Log Management Suite, the acquisition of Dorian Software has also resulted in the joint development of WhatsUp Event Rover 3.0, a new product that uses patented LogHealer™ technology, to enable the recovery of corrupt EVTX files without modifying the files and ruining or tampering with potentially valuable forensic information. The WhatsUp Event Log Management Suite also includes LogRefiner™ technology which allows customers to work with legacy EVT log files, including older Windows system, as well as the new EVTX log files from newer Windows systems, such as Vista, Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008. These new patented features serve to differentiate this suite from other log management solutions on the market.

"We are excited to be able to offer our customers the highly praised event log management technology from Dorian Software Creations under the umbrella of the Ipswitch Network Management Division," said Brian Gollaher, director of product management, Ipswitch, Inc.'s Network Management Division. "This new product offering extends the already famous value we offer WhatsUp Gold users," Gollaher said.

The WhatsUp Event Log Management Suite brings to the WhatsUp Gold product family the ability to automate the collection and management of alerts, notifications and archiving of both Syslogs and Windows event logs. This important aspect of a sound IT management strategy further increases the value organizations receive from Ipswitch WhatsUp Gold.

The WhatsUp Event Log Management Suite includes: WhatsUp Event Archiver, for automated collection, centralization, and secure storage; WhatsUp Event Analyst, with one-click filtering for event examination and correlation as well as reporting for audit and compliance; WhatsUp Event Alarm, which provides monitoring, alerting and notification of defined events; and WhatsUp Event Rover, for on-the-fly forensics and log data mining.
