Mr Edwards' main role will be on the Cisco European Smart Care Service Business Forum as a consultant, helping Cisco shape its services for partners and end users.
"Smart Care is Cisco's way of putting intelligence into IT networks to create a support service that alerts customers to problems and security issues, informs them of network performance and enables them to manage them most efficiently,"
"At CNS, we have extensive experience in dealing with SMEs and we've also worked with Cisco for many years so we know their products and services very well. With a strong background in these two areas we're well placed to understand the needs of Smart Care's target customers and my role on the board will involve offering strategic advice on what Cisco should be developing. I'll be regularly liaising on this with the Smart Care product developers."
The European board, which also meets monthly, is made of 15 business leaders from across Europe. Mark is one of only three board members from UK businesses. A similar board operates for the Americas and another for the Asian-Pacific region where markets and product requirements are significantly different.
