Bob the Builder helps start work at Drayton Manor Theme Park’s new hotel
Children’s favourite, Bob the Builder™ made a special appearance at the award-winning Drayton Manor Theme Park today (23rd March), for the ground breaking of the new Drayton Manor Park Hotel.
The Fat Controller™ was also on hand to ensure everyone stayed in line, and took time off from his usual role at Drayton Manor Theme Park’s Thomas Land™ attraction to assist with the building work.
The new 150 bedroom hotel will primarily meet the demand from park visitors as the theme park is attracting families from all over the UK, particularly since the arrival of Thomas Land.
The Drayton Manor Park Hotel is scheduled to open summer 2011 and will feature themed bedrooms, including ones from the popular Thomas & Friends™ series.
The hotel will also feature extensive conferencing and hospitality facilities, complimenting those already at the theme park, and will include two restaurants, a coffee shop and a crèche.
Colin Bryan, Managing Director, Drayton Manor Theme Park, comments: “The Drayton Manor Park Hotel has been long-awaited and I’m pleased that after many hurdles and a lengthy planning process building work has finally begun.
This year marks our 60th Anniversary so we like to think of the new hotel as our gift to the park to mark the occasion. We also hope that providing onsite accommodation will enable visitors to make the most of their time at the park and contribute towards our commitment to providing total family entertainment.”
