University College London (UCL), one of the world’s leading multidisciplinary universities, has entered a new agreement with Science Warehouse for its e-procurement catalogue. The new deal will target increased savings and efficiencies across all of UCL’s purchasing.

e-business sector, specialises in web-based purchasing solutions. UCL is one of the world’s top ranking universities – rated 4th globally – with some 8,000 staff and 22,000 students.
Alison Woodhams, Director of Finance at UCL, said: “As a world-leading university, it is essential that UCL provide our staff with the best possible tools for research, teaching and administration whilst also ensuring rigorous financial control. Our e-procurement solution has already started to generate efficiencies throughout the whole purchasing cycle and ensures that we start to maximise value from our supplier contracts.“
John Feraday, Head of Purchasing at UCL, added: “The Science Warehouse solution allowed us to enable all of our suppliers rapidly for e procurement and provides the wide category coverage we require to cater for a diverse range of academic departments. UCL delivered over £1m in efficiency savings in the last year and this will increase with further rollout into new areas such as electronic invoicing.”
