Energy Companies Urged To Do More

March 23, 2010 - PRLog -- With just a few  days to go till the introduction of the new feed in tariff, solar industry is calling on energy companies to do more to inform customers of the new feed in tariff. The solar energy traiff will be the biggest change to solar energy market for many years. Wayne Morris of the Big green company comments " we recently conducted a survey among our customers and asked the following three questions"

1)   Are you aware of how solar panels work?
2)   Do you know what the payback time is for solar panels?
3)   Are you aware of the new feed in tariff?

Of those customers surveyed, the results were:

Answer to question 1 – 5%
Answer to question 2 – 25% answered accurately
Answer to question 3 – 10%

These results clearly indicate a gap between what customers know and what the energy companies. If the feed in tariff is to be a success in the UK, then more needs to be done to make the UK aware of how solar works and what the benefits are. The UK government has done its bit by making the feed in traiff law, lets now see the energy companies doing more to inform people.
