Kris Crawford of For Pits’ Sake, Inc. today announced that UFC Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) Light Heavyweight Fighter Rodney "Sho Nuff" Wallace is the latest of a long list of professional fighters to join the award-winning Knock Out Dog Fighting program. Wallace is joining the fight against the cruel and inhumane practice of dog fighting by getting involved in the organization's youth intervention program and with the release of a new Knock Out Dog Fighting poster.

The Knock Out Dog Fighting program is an unprecedented youth intervention program created to stop cruelty and abuse. The organization partners with schools, community centers, Boys & Girls Clubs, juvenile detention facilities, law enforcement and gang prevention task forces to address the underlying reasons kids are fighting dogs and abusing animals. Knock Out Dog Fighting team members are positive role models that are working in their communities teaching children and young adults that it is not a sign of strength, power or greatness to abuse and fight animals.

"Many children and young adults have goals in life that include playing professional sports, so they look for role models who they can emulate or impersonate", said Crawford. "So there is a strong need for positive athletic role models in our society. We are excited to have Rodney on our team because he has the ability to positively influence youth behavior with his exceptional athletic ability and deep sense of personal accountability."

Rodney currently fights in the UFC's light heavyweight division and has an impressive 9 - 1 record. He is the Vendetta FC 205 lb 8-man Tournament Champion and the 2009 NAGA Overall Champion. Before starting his career in MMA, Rodney was an a 3 Time State Wrestling Champion and an All-Conference running back at NCAA Division II Catawba College from 2001-2004 and finished his career as the school's all-time leading rusher. "What kind of person abuses or fights dogs to show what kind of man he is?", says Rodney. "Dogs are man's best friend, they can't speak but they can understand. We need to let them know we are on their side."

Rodney is managed by Fight Legion Sports Management. "Our mixed martial artists are excited to step into the fight against animal cruelty," said Sky Andren, owner of Fight Legion Sports Management. "The Knock Out Dog Fighting program helps us communicate with our youth and show them through example the beauty of responsible pet ownership and love for pit bulls as companions not status symbols. It is people like UFC fighter Rodney Wallace and all of the others on this team that make me so proud, not just because of what they can do on TV, but that they step up to volunteer to make a difference in our community and help be a positive role model for our future."

Rodney's next fight is on the UFC 111 St. Pierre vs Hardy card against Jared Hamman (11-2) on March 27, 2010 at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.

Rodney Wallace and the Knock Out Dog Fighting program are not only saving dogs, they are also helping our children and our communities. For more information about how you can join Rodney and his fight to stop cruelty and abuse, go to http://www.KnockOutDogFighting.org
