March 22, 2010 - PRLog -- Nancy Alert, Washington, DC Metropolitan Area Realtor, is Featured in the March 2010 Issue of Black Enterprise Magazine, “A Tech Makeover Story” (p82)

Harnessing social media and innovative technology keeps her business profitable in a tough real estate market!

ARLINGTON, VA - In a tough real estate market, Nancy Alert, a RE/MAX Allegiance realtor with an impressive, 14-year track record in the Washington, DC real estate market, has learned to make the most of today’s innovative technology tools to help grow her business.  She recently attracted the attention of Sonya A. Donaldson, a writer for Black Enterprise (B.E.) magazine, who was looking for small, medium and large business owners using innovative technology methods to grow their business.

Ms. Alert runs Nancy Alert and Associates from her Arlington, VA-based office, but her use of some of today’s technologies allow her to run her business and interact with clients from almost any location. This expertise earned her a feature article in the March 2010 issue of B.E., the #1 top African American business magazine in the world.

“I implemented a number of technologies to improve productivity and time management,” said Ms. Alert.  She is one of Washington, D.C.’s top-selling REALTORs® and is licensed in Virginia, Maryland, and the District of Columbia.  Some of the new technologies used by this busy entrepreneur include:

•   Docusign - an electronic signature software that allows clients to view, exchange and sign documents online - saving time for both the client and for the business owner.  Docusign allows both parties to conduct business from a computer at home or from their office.  After signatures are captured, the documents are emailed and received in an instant without traveling to another location.
•   E-fax - allows business owners to fax documents to an 800 number that can be forwarded to multiple parties via email.  Once clients receive online documents, they can use Docusign to apply their signature and email it back.  For clients without access to fax machines, this is a perfect solution to send and receive attachments via their computer.  If the client wants a copy of the documents, they can simply print them from their personal computer.
•   The digital “Kodak Zi8 HD” camera allows users to take photos and videos of important items, such as real estate listings, with ease.  A bargain at less than $200, photos can be easily and quickly uploaded to: a personal computer, to YouTube, Facebook, and/or a number of Social Media Networks, or attached to an email for forwarding to clients.

At a cost of just over $30 per month, Ms. Alert considers her technology expenditures well worth the investment. She was thrilled to get the call to do the interview for Black Enterprise magazine, and more than happy to share some of her methods for doing business in today’s ever-changing, ever-evolving technology environment.

Ms. Alert expects her business to grow significantly in the coming year, and her knowledgeable and capable team is ready to give personal attention to each client and ensure that they understand the process of buying and selling real estate.
