The Contenders
The festival has not yet begun. The representatives have not yet arrived. But The Contenders is already off to a “knock out” start for the 2010 Honolulu Film Festival by being selected from among the very best of several hundred of films submitted from over 30 countries around the world.
Producer Rafaelle Piscopiello and Screenwriter, Director and Lead Actress, Marta Mondelli have been showing this feature, soon to be out on DVD, throughout Italy and the US, at film festivals, where they have appeared and been particularly featured in Elle Magazine, Marie Claire, Corriere Del MezzoGiorno and on TRIP in Naples interviewed by Vittorio Sinicalchi and film critic Alberto Castellano.
The Contenders is a dark comedy, Agatha Christie-like thriller, full of jealousies, secrets, denials and “the secret of happiness,” where the night’s festivities are shortly thrown into a frenzy by the sudden, unexplained death of the guest whose birthday everyone has come to celebrate – or not.
The Honolulu Film Festival is set to be held April 24th-25th at the world famous Hilton Hawaiian Village Beach Resort and Spa in Waikiki Beach.
