Lucy first encountered Smallprint when she saw a friend wearing a piece of the jewellery. 'I straight away ordered some cufflinks for my partner's birthday. He was literally moved to tears when he opened them! I knew immediately I wanted to get involved,’ says Lucy. ‘Not only is the jewellery just beautiful, but the chance of being my own boss and fitting work in around the lives of my son was too good an opportunity to pass by.’
Smallprint uses precious metal clay to create original pieces of silver jewellery featuring a child’s fingerprint – once the clay has been rolled out and shaped, the child’s finger is gently pressed in place to create the print. Each piece is then individually sanded, engraved and fired, before being finished with solid silver settings. Prices start from £25.
